I tried this with a PDF of one of my old webpages. You’ll see the converted DOCX document with the same file name as the original PDF. Have a look in the folder where you stored the PDF document. Result: Trados converts the PDF to DOCX format, saves it in the same folder as the PDF, and opens it for translation in the Editor view. It doesn’t matter what the target language is if you are only using Studio to convert the PDF. You’ll see the Open Document dialogue box:ģ. Check that the source language is correct. Select the PDF file that you want to convert and click Open. Launch Trados Studio and click Open Document.Ģ. Here’s how to use Trados Studio to convert a PDF document to Word DOCX format:ġ. It converts them to Microsoft Word DOCX format and does a fairly good job of conserving the formatting, as long as it's not too complex – and you can use this feature even if you don’t need to translate the document. One of the best things about Trados Studio is the way it handles PDF documents.
